Thru Francis' Eyes

Cebu 2010: Work. Very short notice from the bosses and off i went. Stayed for almost 2weeks. Barely saw the city coz i was just cooped up inside the walls of the site. Had a weekend blast though coz francis flew in to spend the weekend with me. Tour and Eat basically. Lechon! Lechon!

Cebu is the lechon capital of the Philippines. Fun Fact: If you go to the different towns in Cebu, the lechon is cooked differently. My favorite is the lechon in SOUP from 2 towns below south of Cebu City. YUM!
CNT Lechon then a heart attack!

The combo of lechon is the PUSO. This is rice that is very compacted. Very cheap too. When you open the wrap, it is almost 1cup of rice. But of course, puso tastes a little different from the normal steamed rice but tasty nonetheless.

The gooey food below is Sizzling Nilagang Baka from Abuhan Tres. It is somewhere in the middle of the Ayala Business Center. It tastes different. The normal Nilaga soup is in a separate bowl. The sizzling beef has a unique taste. Must Try!

Try the Sky Experience Adventure. Ride the Coaster Edge and tilt is to see the city face down or try the SkyWalk and walk outside the building where the floor is clear glass so you can see directly below. Don't worry coz there are harnesses so you wont fall off. You can even dangling your legs on the edge. They may be a little costly but it is a must try.
On the edge!

Go to the beaches. There are a lot of beaches to the north and south of the city. We went to a free beach around 2hrs away from the city. It was a nice drive and the beach is clean too.

You also have to visit the Cross of Magellan right smack in the middle of the market. It is a big part of the history of the Philippines so that can't be missed.
History right there.

The jeepneys there have a number and letter combination. There is no way to memorize the combinations and there are no guide maps so just ask around from the locals which to ride to get to a certain destination. If you get lost, the Ayala Mall and SM mall are good landmarks.
